  • Geography and the Location of Rome
  • Myth of Romulus and remus
  • The influence of Etruscan Engineering
  • The geography was very mountainous and had a long river by the name of the Tiber river. Rome was started by a little village and made into a city. The city of Rome was made over at least seven hills.
  • Influence of Etruscan Sports
  • The myth of Romulus and Remus takes place when a princess has two twins. The uncle is afraid that when they get older the twins ( Romulus and Remus) would take the throne. The uncle sent two people to drown them in a river and indeed they did just not all the way. The two people had put them in a basket and ran but the basket did not sink. The twins had floated all the way to the end of the river when a wolf see's them and takes the boys in to raise as her own. As the boys got older the farther out they went. One day the boys decided to build a city where the wolfs had saved them. Romulus and Remus began to fight and argue over the name until Romulus had killed his brother. And after that they had named the city Rome.
  • Influence of Etruscan Architecture
  • The influence of engineering was great.  Etruscan structures the Romans adapted were the arch and the cuniculus. Etruscan arches rested on two pillars, which supported a half-circle of wedge-shaped stones.  This was adapted from the Greeks as well as many other things.A cuniculus was a long underground trench connected by vertical shafts to the ground above. In time, The Romans became even better engineers than the Etruscan.  later on the the Romans had built even better like  stadiums, and aqueducts.
  • Influence of Greek Art, Religion, and Writing
  • Etruscan sports gained popularity in Rome. In Roman stadiums, thousands of slaves died fighting as gladiators, professionally trained fighters who battled either each other or wild animals. Other sports where like boxing, wrestling and chariot racing. Many of these things always or usually resulted in death.
  • Greek architecture was one important influence on the Romans. The Greeks constructed marble temples as homes for their gods. also when making these the Romans would make scrolls like the ones we make today in our city. And the Romans had made very good statues of people or their gods as well. Later on they had began to use concrete and other things like stone.
