  • Vaccines are certain molecules from pathogens called antigens and they are introduced into the body forcing our immune system to learn to fight the virus or bacteria.
  • Once the antigens are injected into the body, the immune system learns to view them as intruders and produces antibodies to combat the virus or bacteria. these antibodies are remembered by memory T cells which remember what the antigen looks like and what the antibody looks like.
  • Once the antigens are remembered, if they entire the body again they are met very quickly and attacked before they can spread and cause sickness
