  • The first act was the Boston Harbor Act. Put into effect on June 1, 1774, this act closed Boston Harbor. This was very bad news to the many merchants of Boston.
  • The Massachusetts government had 28 people to govern the bay colony. Then came the Massachusetts Government Act. This act replaced all of them and replaced them with 12-36 people chosen by the king.

  • Get out of here! We are in charge!
  • British
  • The third act was the Administration of Justice Act. This act moved trials against British officials from the colonies to Britain.
  • You are arrested. Your trial will be in Great Britain.
  • The fourth act was the Quartering Act. This act required colonists to provide living needs to soldiers.
  • Give us some food!
  • Ugh! Fine!
  • The fifth act was the Quebec Act. This act expanded British Candian territory to the Ohio Valley.

  • The intolerable acts were one of the main causes of the American Revolution.
