  • The people have a right to contribute
  • Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine in 1776. However, it was written anonymously. it was a 47-page pamphlet about why the citizens should vote as a whole, instead of the King. They thought that all people had the right to vote.
  •  It was a document that changed people's perspective on voting. It made it to where the citizens had a say in what the town would do, instead of just a king, or specific person. It had a lot of options compared, unlike before.
  • Common Sense was published on January 10, 1776. It was read in Philadelphia and argued 2 main points. Independence from Great Britain, and the creation of the democratic republic.
