Because I'm doing this for the family, mom we need the money
Thank you mom!
Why do you want to be a Voyageur?
Ok? I guess
Even though Christian was leaving his family behind. He still wanted to be a voyageur. He wanted to this for the family. He wants to get enough money to pay for food, light, shelter, etc.He wanted to help the family survive.
Christian surprisingly met his classmate from last year Thomas. So they had to encourage each other on the long adventure awaiting. Christian was homesick, he was getting along with most of his brigade, he did not have muscles he was still weak, but he was holding up pretty well.
Christian wanted to do half of the normal load instead of taking the normal load. He had to keep talking to keep up but sadly he slipped and he could not get up he was like a turtle on its shell. So one of his brigade members had to help him up and to his surprise the brigade member who helped him up gave him a little handful of gold coins.
Were so proud of you son!
The canoe ride through Lake Superior was really bad we had to face wind ,little bit of snow, thunder, gigantic waves, and lightning. During this time though we had just lost our steers man in our brigade so we had to replace him.
It was awesome to see GrandPortage. But i think the journey is better than the destination. It was good to know that I get to rest for a few days instead of working but I did have to run a few earrings for other people. I didn't mind though. It felt great to see GrandPortage.
Christian decided to go home instead of going on he just wanted to see his family again. He wanted to go home and rest. He just wanted a break.
