I’m eating breakfast with my mother and I’ve been thinking about our conversation we had yesterday and It got me thinking why me and mom are always craving candy because of our family history of drug abuse. My mom used to take drugs but has quit for me, but now it seems like she is addicted to candy, like she depends on it. And now she has passed it onto me, now it seems like we have a candy problem. After this conversation Amie decides to try to get better by cutting off candy completely.
After weeks of struggling with her addiction usually giving in very easily. Amie walks to Bella’s home and is greeted by Kehlani.“How are you feeling?” Kehlani says“Not good.. I’ve been trying to stop but it’s just so hard” Amie starts to break down and cry but continues to talk, “I don't have much to eat at home...and it makes me feel better, It's like it gets rid of my problems for a while but creates bigger problems later ..I need help..” Kehlani wraps her arms around Amie warmly and carringly and says softly “Hey its ok we’ll get through this together, you’re not alone” Amie cries in Kehlani’s arms, filled with determination to get better.
Months after months of getting endless help and support from Bella’s family and rehab, Amie slowly gets better and better with of course some falls but she gets back up and is free from her addiction. Amie says to kehlani with tears of joy streaming down her face “Thank you, Miss without you I would have never done this. Thank you for inviting me for dinner with you every single day. I may have failed a lot throughout the years but i finally did it. My mom may still be stubborn but i'll work through it with her.”
