  • John was out on a delivery when a car wasn't paying attention and BAM, hit him right in the legs kicking his head up to the windshield.
  • John, a 46 year old is out on a delivery, he works for FedEx as a delivery manager out of Charlotte. He has 2 daughters at home. Emily who is 20 and Jenn who is 17. John is the only worker in the family, the kids are still in school. They love traveling.
  • Hmmm... After evaluation, he is paralyzed waist down, has a broken wrist, and a minor head injury.
  • Emily: Welcome home dad, how are you feeling? John: Well i've been better Emily: Well don't worry financially! The person who hit you is paying for the medical expenses and we got a report from the government that  you might wanna check out.
  • Partial Disability: An income for those with a disability stopping them from work. For disabled and parents of disabled children. Medicaid: Provides free/low cost medical benefits for adults, kids, disabled, pregnant women, etc. SNAP: Stamps acting as a free voucher for nutritious foods. Meant for low income families.

  • John: I don't know what we'd do without these food stamps. Their really helping us financially! Emily: Yeah these and the Medicaid covering physical therapy are really saving us. I would have to drop out of college and work if we didn't have it.
  • Doctor: Well John, after 2 1/2 years of physical therapy, I'm happy to tell you that you are now able to walk with partial feeling in your legs and can go back to work on a working from home condition until further improvement.  John: Oh wow that's great to hear!
