  • Hello! My name is Agatha Marie Camarillo, but I prefer to go by just Agatha if you were wondering. Last year, I graduated from the Macville Public School.
  • Passionate violinist
  • Strong writer
  • Good at math
  • Successful completion of the SciTech Program
  • I am a perfectionist. I set impossible standards for myself and beat myself up when I don't achieve it. It's been something I've been trying to let go of, but old habits die hard.
  • I learn best by working through the concept repeatedly. In other words, doing something over and over again helps improve my proficiency the best. This includes the use of practice questions and review sheets.
  • That ONE slip in the middle of the piece was so noticable!

  • Although there are many paths I have in mind, my main focus is completing high school

  • However, during Grade 8, I almost lost my passion and motivation for math. Although I fully understood the material and did very well in the class, my teacher gave out unnecessary homework and projects (that were often stacked). It was very stressful, frustrating and boring.
  • Math happens to be one of my favourite subjects! I love learning new concepts and analyzing challenging problems.

  • I would expect Grade 9 mathematics to be very fast paced, to which would be suitable for my learning. My grade 7 math teacher warned me that the difficulty of grade 9 math is significantly high compared to grade 8. I expect myself and my peers to be very involved with each other's learning, as to keep up with the intensity of the curriculum.
  • Lastly, I hope that this year will be a change from my experience last year. I am hoping to regain my passion for mathematics and reconsider a STEM career path in the future.
