In our last lesson, we have a lot to cover. It's all about electrons and the electromagnetic spectrum!!
The electromagnetic spectrum is able to tell us about different waves with different frequencies, wavelengths, and energy levels. From lowest energy and longest wavelength to highest energy and shortest wavelength, it goes: radio, tv, microwaves, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, xrays, gamma.
There are two kinds of spectrums: line and continuous. We are focusing on the line spectra which is when light is only hitting certain parts of the EMS. There are various energy levels within the spectrum, radio being the lowest, and gamma, the highest. As for colors, red is the lowest, violet is the highest
Next, the electron cloud model. This is something that has developed over a long period of time, but as of now, scientists know of the cloud model. This is the idea that e- are almost impossible to pinpoint and are moving around in a cloud of e- around an atom's nucleus
Lastly, wave/particle duality. This is the idea that a quantum, particle of energy, or a photon, particle of light, give off both the qualities of a wave and a particle at times.
