Storyboard Text

  • Situation/Exposition
  • Madame Loisel is a woman who is very pretty, and charming. She is unsatisfied with the family she was born into and the life that she's living. She desires and believes that she should be rich, and participate in things that the wealthy do.
  • Complication
  • One day Mr. Loisel comes home with an invitation inviting them to a ball where there'll be lots of wealthy people. Instead of being honored, Madame is upset, and complains that she doesn't have a dress to attend this ball.
  • Conflict
  • Mr. Loisel ends up giving his wife the money she needs for a new dress, but still notices that she is unsatisfied. Madame Loisel now complains that she doesn't have a necklace to go with her dress.
  • Developement
  • Mr.Loisel suggest that she goes to her friend who is far more wealthier than them, and ask her if she can borrow a necklace. Without a doubt, she finds a beautiful diamond necklace and wears it to her ball.
  • Climax
  • When Madame Loisel and her husband finally return home, she notices that the necklace she borrowed from her friend is no longer around her neck. As a result, their family has to sacrifice and trade a lot of the things they have to buy another necklace that looks somewhat like the one that was lost.
  • Outcome/Resolution
  • Madame Loisel eventually tells her friend what happened with her necklace. When this happens, she learns that the necklace was actually fake, and she spent way more than what was needed to on the new one.
