  • A long time ago in Greece, there was a boy named Theseus. Theseus was the son of the king of Athens. His mother had said "son, it's time you knew, knew that you are the son of the king of Athens" "so, I am a prince?!?!" Theseus exclaimed "yes but there as soon as you can do one simple task," his mother explained. Theseus was promised as soon as he could move a boulder, he could go to his dad. Theseus grew older and eventually was able to move the bolder and recover the sword hidden underneath it.  Theseus set off at once to visit his father and claim the title "prince".  Theseus had come at the right time too, his father was sending innocent people as a tribute to Crete for defeat in war. Theseus listened to the king in the crowd. " I am your son, Theseus, and I wish to go as one as the tribute people!" Theseus explained, "son if you go, you will surely die of the minotaur! Who will take after me?" "Father, I will kill the minotaur

  • Once he was there, Theseus met king Minos of Crete along with his daughter. The daughter felt sorry for Theseus, and when Theseus went into the maze, the daughter gave him sturdy gold thread, so that he wouldn't get lost. Theseus traveled through a passageway into a passageway, until finally, Theseus found the minotaur. The minotaur is half man, half beast monster. Theseus beat the monster with the beast's own horns and followed the string out of the maze.

  • Theseus returned home to Athens and everyone celebrated because of the defeat of the minotaur. Soon after that Theseus took the role of king.
