  • Taxing is the main way governments make money. In the US there are sales tax and income tax. Sales tax is Money paid to government based on the exchange of goods and services. Income tax is money paid to government based on earnings. 
  • taxes support the economy by giving the government money to help fund government programs that help the economy.

  • A budget is a plan of income and spending. A budget makes sure you dont spend too much!  If you budget your money, you can know how much you have and can know how much you can buy.

  • A personal budget has things like the things that you would buy at the store. A national budget has things like the military and health care and highways. They are similar because they both have a certain income and they both can have a deficit and surplus of income.
