Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat and a military officer who fought in the American Revolution. He fought in the continental army with the colonists against the british. The 13 colonies joined together as one to fight the British. The Colonies won their freedom and Independence from the British King on September 3rd, 1783.
Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette was born september 6 1757 and died May 20 1834 at the age of 76. He was born Chavaniac-Lafayette,France and died in Paris, France.
He was a volunteer Colonial officer, and he was stationed at Valley Forge with George Washington Training for The "Revolutionary War." The colonies joined together as won and eventually won their Freedom and Independence from the British.
