  • I am Abraham Lincoln the president of the United States. I want to free all slaves.
  • Main Idea
  • The 13th Amendment bans slavery in the United States and all of its territories.
  • We are the plantation slaves. We have evil masters that whip us almost every day.
  • The setting takes place in the South.
  • "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

  • I agree with the 13th Amendment!!

  • Are you crazy?!
  • Slaves must be free!!
  • South
  • The South did not agree with the 13th Amendment. They were not willing to give up their way of living. They were going to keep their slaves in whatever way possible after they gained freedom.

  • The North didn't see a difference with the Amendment since slaves were already free in the North. They only hoped that the South would give freedom to slaves.
  • I LOVE my freedom!
  • The 13th Amendment allowed slaves to be free. The significance of this was that later on they were allowed the same rights as everyone else. Throughout generations all people would be free and have equal rights.
  • I adore my husband.
