Storyboard Text

  • Evidence 1: "A loud chant fills the air with accusations and demands"
  • Theme: Mankind is its worst enemy
  • Evidence 2: "You keep your distance"
  • Evidence 3: "She's crazy"
  • One of the main themes of The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Sterling is that Mankind is its worst enemy. For example,"A loud chant filling the air of accusations". The neighbors are blaming one another without evidence. They are trying not to get blamed on by blaming other people. Another example, "You keep your distance". They are yelling at Les Goodman and they think he was the alien. They are accusing him because his car started. They don't have any evidence that he started it. Last example, "She's crazy". They are calling her names without actually knowing it was her. This main theme ties into the story perfectly.
