The Nukak tribe lived in forests ang jungles. In 1980s, before their first contact with humans of civilization, its population was just over 1300 members.
In 1983 evangelicals from the American organization New Tribes Mission went to the forests of the Colombian National Reserve Rio Pure and invaded Nukak's territory. It was the first time the tribe had contact with others.
After that members began to sick massively because of contact with residents. in 2005 only 500 people of Nukak survived. Click to Edit Description
