  • Motive: The country was in a national debt, from military campaigns and overspending, there was inequality and starvation which lead to bread riots, and a weak and effective leadership. These led the people to realize the country needed a change.
  • No King and Queen!
  • Method: The 3rd estate takes Tennis Court Oath, they storm the Bastille, and the National Assembly sells church lands and places it under state control. The National Assembly abolishes the monarchy and declares France a republic, the King, Queen, and other traitors were executed, The riots also created chaos that threatened the public safety in France.
  • Change: Napoleon overthrew the Directory and eventually names himself Emperor of the French.
  • Haiti
  • This torture needs to end now!
  • Motive: The slaves wanted to gain freedom from their plantation owners, who treated them horribly and would sometimes torture them.
  • Method: Toussaint L'Ouverture was a slave who escaped to freedom and lead the slaves to protest and fight against the white plantation owners.
  • Change: The whites wanted revenge on the slaves and fought back with the slaves, who ended up being forced to work again.
