Zach a teenage black boy is August grandson who helps her beekeep and has a romance with Lily. Zach also wants to break the sterotype of only being good at sports and become a lawyer.

June Boatwright is the second eldest of the sisters and plays the cello. At first hating Lily because she is white June comes around to love her as well while dealing with her own struggles of wanting to get married , but being scared of being ditched as before.
