Storyboard Text

  • While King Arthur and his knights were having a feast, a green knight appears with a game of sorts.
  • Who will take my game? You take a swing at me with this ax and a year and a day later, I will do the same.
  • . . .
  • The green knight was disappointed with the lack of response. King Arthur stood forward to accept the game but was stopped by Sir Gawain.
  • What is this? I thought you were the best. It appears I was wrong.

  • Sir Gawain took his strike and he beheaded the green knight. But in shock of everyone, he stood up and picked up his head and placed it back to his body.

  • That was a great strike. I'll see you in a year and day, that is if you keep your end of the deal. You shall find me at the green chapel.
  • Throughout the year, trying to find the green chapel, Sir Gawain is faced by many obstacles along the way.

  • Near the end of the year, Sir Gawain  arrived at a kingdom and is greeted by the king and queen. The king claims he knows where the green chapel is.
  • Welcome  to our kingdom.   I am pleased to accommodate   you. Everything  I gain, I  will share with you. Everything you gain, you will share with me.
  • I shall do as you say.
  • So handsome.
  • For the next few days, Sir Gawain gains kisses on cheek from the queen, as she has fallen for him. As a honorable knight, he returns the kisses to the king. On the last day, she gives him an item that he keeps, for it will help him in his encounter with the green knight...
  • Here, have this (green) girdle, for it will grant you invincibility.
  • Thank you for this gift. It is just what I need to face the green knight.
