  • Unit 3.1 - Stephen F. Austin got his Texas land grant and got permission to start settling his 300 families
  • 3.4 Tensions Grow
  • WE HAVE OUR RIGHTS!!
  • Unit 3.2 - The colonization law of 1825 was made. During this time the American settlers were lead into Texas to be a part of Stephen F. Austins 300 families.
  • 3.5 Conventions and Petitions 
  • 1. Statehood for Texas 2. Allow American immigrants  3.No import taxes 4. Land tittles for settlers in the east 5. Protection from Indians
  • Unit 3.3 - The Ferdonian Rebellion, the law of April 6, 1830, and the Mier y Teran report all took place in this unit. Also, In this unit Mexico started to investigate the conditions in Texas and created new laws to restrict American immigration.
  • 3.6 The War Begins
  • Unit 3.4 - The Texans were not actually against the Mexican government, but they were against the acts of abuse towards the Constitution and their rights. To make that clear they wrote what was called the Turtle Bayou Resolutions.
  • Unit 3.5 - The conventions of 1832 & 1833 occurred. Texans held a convention because of the problems at Fort Anahuac and to further discuss the turtle bayou resolutions. At one of their meetings, they wrote a letter to the Mexican government asking for a few changes of law. Stephen F. Austin, as their leader, delivered the letter to the Government, but got thrown in jail. 
  • Unit 3.6 - The Mexicans and the Gonzales town feuded back and forth about the "come and take it" cannon. Mexico took the cannon from the Gonzales town but didn't get away. One of the Gonzales people shot and killed one of the Mexicans which started the Texas revolution.
