Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Primrose Everdeen!
  • I volunteer as tribute!
  • Rising Action
  • Try to win over the audience to get sponsors.
  • Climax
  • Don't think you got away from us!
  • We're going to get you Katniss!
  • It's reaping day for the Hunger Games where one male and one female are chosen from each of the twelve districts to fight to the death.  Katniss' younger sister, Prim, gets chosen to represent district twelve. Katniss volunteers herself as tribute so, Prim doesn't have to go and risk being killed. This describes the exposition because it shows the background that Katniss cares about her sister.
  • Falling Action
  • Katniss and Peeta are representing district twelve for the Hunger Games. Effie Trinket and Haymitch help coach them how to survive both physically and mentally. Haymitch was a previous winner of the Hunger Games. They both give advice how to get sponsors to help them get supplies during the game. This describes the rising action because it leads up to the climax.
  • Conflict
  • Many people died the first day because the capitol announced that there could only be one survivor. Katniss  hides away in a tree  to prevent being killed by a group of tributes that teamed up including Peeta. This shows the climax because this is one of the turning points when Peeta betrays Katniss.
  • Resolution
  • No wait! I now declare Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen the winners of this years Hunger Games!
  • Peeta gets injured trying to save Katniss from Cato.  Katniss eventually finds Peeta and brings him back to a cave to help get him back on his feet. Katniss remembers Haymitch's teachings about winning over the audience. She plays on their sympathy to get the medicine Peeta needs. This is one of the falling action because this leads up to the conflict.
  • Don't die on me Peeta!
  • After defeating all the other tributes Katniss and Peeta were the only ones left. Neither of them wanted to win if it meant the other one had to die. The game makers needed a winner. This is the conflict because this is one of the problems when they’re the only tributes left and they have to kill each other.
  • You deserve to be the winner!
  • No you deserve to be the winner!
  • Peeta and Katniss devised a plan in hopes that they can survive without the other dying. They threatened to both eat poisonous berries if they both couldn't win. Since the game makers needed  winner and to appease the audience the game makers decided to name both of the the winners of the Hunger Games. This is the resolution because this is how they resolve the problem of the Hunger Games.
