Hello, my name is Masih Alinejad. I am from Iran, and I started the #MyStealthyFreedom trend on social media.
I posted a video of myself taking off my hajab and letting my hair feel free in the wind. I believe this is a simple right Iranian women have been denied.
Not wearing a hajab is something most women take for granted. For Iranian women they have been denied this freedom since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

I decided to write a book about the injustice towards women in my culture
I received tons of positive replies with videos of women protesting. But there is also negativity that comes with the protest.
Social media empowers people to break censorship
I fled Iran afraid to be arrested. My parents can't leave the country and my father has stopped speaking to me. The government brainwashed him. I'm proud of what I have accomplished and I won't stop fighting for this right.
