The Pilgrims left England on the Mayflower to get away from the Church of England. They brought whole families because they intended on staying. They tried to go to Jamestown but ended up in Massachusetts . When they got here there was very rocky soil.
Plymouth made money by fishing, ship building, and whaling. They had substance farming which meant they only grew for there family. They also had small farms.
The men on the Mayflower decided to make a government known as the Mayflower Compact. They agreed to consult each other about the laws and promised to work together to make the conoly succeed. Women were not allowed to participate.
The Pilgrims came to Massachusetts to get religious freedoms and escape religious persecution from The Church of England.
