  • Mendel noticed that different traits have different variants, but he couldn’t figure out how they got their variants.
  • bUT WhY ArE THey dIFFerENt!?
  •  Mendel thought that if he crossed a tall plant with a short plant, he would get an average height plant.
  • Gotta make deez plants da right size
  • He crossed the different types of plants with each other (tall with short). After hybrids were made, he crossed the hybrids with each other as well.
  • Time to make dem plants
  • He noticed that one of the alleles, which he dubbed as recessive, disappeared after he bred two purebreds, and then when he crossed hybrids, the recessive allele occasionally came back.
  • DHAHGHDHG WTH WHY DID ONE VARIANT HECKIN DISAPPEAR
  • His work was published in a paper, but there was an overwhelming number of numbers in the paper that he was not taken seriously. No scientist believed that his method was correct.
  • THIS IS INCORRECT YOU FOOL!

  • Mendel actually started experimenting with mice, breeding white and gray mice together, but the abbotts were against this, so he turned to pea plants.
