  • I really want them blue suede shoes. I'll just try to take her purse.
  • Conflict
  • I wouldn't take you anywhere with a face like that. Bring you butt to my house.
  • Boy, I should beat you silly for trying to steal my pocketbook. What did I ever do to you.
  • Are you going to take me to the police.
  • Rising Action
  • Go on inside and wash that face of yours.
  • Mrs. Washington was walking home from work when Roger, a young boy, came from behind to try to take her pocketbook so that he could buy some Blue Suede Shoes.
  • Climax
  • Should I stay or should I go
  • Mrs. Washington catches Roger and threatens him by saying that she should knock him silly and that she should take him to the police. She also talks about his dirty face.
  • Falling Action
  • Look here, when I was young I did somethings I wasn't proud of either.
  • Mrs. Washington takes him to her house to wash his face and that is where Roger tells her his motives.
  • Resolution
  • Now here. Take this $10 and go buy them shoes.
  • When they get inside Mrs. Washington turns her back to Roger, and leaves her pocketbook out. Roger has to make the choice of whether to leave or stay.
  • I know you hungry.
  • After they eat dinner, Mrs. Washington sits down and tells Roger about her life.
  • Mrs. Washington gives him the $10 he needs so that he can buy the Blue Suede Shoes and tells him that if he needs anything to just ask. Roger is so shocked that the only thing he could say is thank you ma'am.
