Nixon VS The United States
This case was critical because it did much to define the power of the president to claim executive privilege. The Court rejected Nixon's expansive claim of executive privilege in this case. It ruled that the president is not immune from having to comply with orders from courts. This court case was also a grand example of Rule of Law. My reasoning behind this is that Rule of Law states that every individual is under the law, and treated equally under it.
The constitutional issue at the heart of united states v. Nixon is best described as whether laws had been broken during the watergate incident.
