  • Rainsford
  • Ivan
  • Setting and Background Information
  • Complication
  • The main characters in the story The most Dangerous games are Rainsford, General Zaroff, and Ivan. Rainsford and Zaroff both love to hunt and are very good at it and Ivan is Zaroffs body guard and is very tough and scary.
  • Rising action
  • The setting in the story The most Dangerous Game takes place on a deserted island with General Zaroffs mansion on it. We know the island is called Trap ship island so it is dangerous to be there. Most of the story takes place in the jungle when Rainsford has to hide from Zaroff.
  • Climax
  • Rainsford first hears the sound of gun shots while on his boat and when he goes to look and see what it was he accidentally falls in the water. He then tries to call for help but no one hears him and the boat drives away. Rainsford then swims to a nearby island. At this point in the story the conflict is man vs. nature because he has to try and stay alive while swimming so he does not drown.
  • Falling action
  • He must have died...
  • After walking through the jungle Rainsford then finds Zaroff and he invites him inside his mansion. After talking with Zaroff for awhile over dinner he finds out that Zaroff hunts people just for fun. He tells Rainsford that he has 3 days to find and hunt them or he loses. Rainsford gets very worried about this and insists that he leaves at once. Zaroff then says that they will hunt tonight.
  • After being sent out into the night Rainsford has to struggle to stay alive for three nights as Zaroff tries to find him. (This is man vs. man because they are both fighting each other.)Then on the third night Zaroff finds Raidsford and Raidsford runs and has no other choice but to jump off a cliff into the ocean since hounds were chasing after him.
  • General Zaroff then believes that Rainsford dies and so he heads back to his mansion. Rainsford actually is still alive and so he swims back to land.
