I can not believe he is getting all of these offers. I thought he was going to basketball scholarships.

Remember what you have been trained to do. Don't disappoint the scouts.
This scene is to represent that Michael is being recruited by collage scouts. This is significant because once they see his potential, they are are interested in him. This event launches the rest of his football career. Packages, letters, and offers were all sent to him after they saw his talent.
In this scene Sean and Leigh Ann start receiving offers, and collage invites for Michael to come and look at schools. Their favorite school, Ole Miss offered Michael a full scholarship.
This scene is to show the pep talks that Sean gives Michael before every game. This is significant because Sean is Michaels father replacement. Sean has done a lot for Michael from becoming his dad, to being his coach.
