Storyboard Text

  • Desdemona goes to wipe Othello's forehead with the handkerchief he had given her and hits it out of her hand. She is more worried about Othello's well being and forgets the handkerchief, then Emilia picks it up.
  • Why do you speak so faintly ? Are you not well ?
  • I have a pain upon my forehead here.
  • How now! What do you here alone ?
  • Emilia knows that Iago wants her to steal the handkerchief from Desdemona, and since Desdemona forgot it Emilia can now give it to him.
  • Do not you chide; I have a thing for you.
  • Desdemona is talking to Emilia how she lost the handkerchief, and Emilia lies to her when she says she doesn't know where it is.
  • Where should I lose that handkerchief Emilia ?
  • I know not, Madam.
  • Fetch me the handkerchief: my mind misgives.
  • Fetch't let me see't.
  • Why, so I can, sir, but I will not now. This is a trick to put me from my suit: Pray you, let Cassio be received again
  • Come, come; You'll never meet a more sufficient man.
  • O Cassio, whence came this ?
  • Pardon me, Bianca. I have this while with leaden thoughts been press'd: But I shall, strike off this score of absence. Sweet Bianca. Take me work this out.
  • Othello gave Desdemona the handkerchief to express his love towards her, when Othello had a pain in his forehead Desdemona was going to use the handkerchief to ease his pain, but Othello swatted it out of her hand. Emilia picked it up and gave it to Iago, who then planted it so Cassio would find it. Cassio then gave it to Bianca.
