Hester Prynne's jail sentence was completed. She took up a cottage on the out skirts of the town. She made a living for her and pearl by sewing and selling her clothes eventhough she was still being judged by the townspeople.
In chapter six, Hester starts to notice Pearl's behavior. she also wondered where did the child come from. Pearl is very beautiful and unusual; she's much more mature and doesn't socialize with the town's children.
Hester is going to the courthouse to fight to keep her child. On the way to the governor she passes a coat of armor and sees her sin and she realizes that's all people see her as is the 'A' on her chest. She is surprise to see''her husband'' there. She wondered why he was there.
