Welcome to Mohenjo-Daro it is located in The Indus Valley Civilization along the Indus River.
It was started almost 5,000 years ago in the modern day countries of Pakistan and Northern India.
Our homes had flat roofs that we would use as another room because it was hot in the house and cooler on the roof. Many people did not have to walk very far for work because they worked in their house.
We also built houses on top of each other. There were different places for rich people and poor people. We have wide streets, so elephants can come through. Our houses were usually made out of mud, clay, or stone.
This is our washroom and shower house to take a shower you would have to take a jug full of waterand pour it over yourself .
You would stand on a piece of stone called a shower tray. We also had the first ever sewage system.
This is the Great Bath it is used to clean us not only physicaly but spiritually too. We used it for religious purposes to please our gods.
Usually only the priest would use it.
Seals were used for trade as tags to show ownership.
The seals where pressed into soft clay and when they hardened they would put it on the pot or item.
