To avoid the prophecy of death by his grandson, Acrisios locked up his own daughter, Danae, to prevent her from having kids.
Zeus watched Danae and thought she was beautiful. So, he turned into golden rain which made Danae pregnant. She gave birth to Perseus.
When Acrisios found out about the birth of a grandson, he locked Perseus and his mother in a chest, which was thrown into sea. Soon, a fisherman and his brother, King Polydectes, found the chest.
It's cramped in here!
Polydectes gave Perseus a lot of challenging tasks. One of these include slaying Medusa!
After hearing stories about his father, Perseus decided to visit Argos. Acrisios, however, was not happy, for he still feared the prophecy.
Oh no! He's coming!
Unfortunately, the prophecy was true. Perseus lost control of a heavy disk, which struck Acrisios and killed him.
