The pumpkin is believed to have originated from North America, most likely in Mexico.
Native americans were the first ones to use the pumpkin. They would roast pumpkin strips over fire for food.
I helped them make it through the harsh winters!
Europeans didn't use the seeds to grow pumpkins however, they used the seeds to feed animals like pigs.
In the modern era, people in america use the pumpkin for all sorts of things during different holidays! Americans carve pumpkins during halloween and eat pumpkin themes foods during thanksgiving.
