  • and my name is Kaa and together we are going to teach you all about geothermal energy.
  • Hi, my name is Squirt
  • Geothermal Energy is a type of energy that is generated by water heating molten rock in the Earth's Core that rises to the surface as hot water or steam.
  • Once that water rises to the surface, it's heat is hot enough to keep homes and other buildings. Not hot enough to generate electrical energy.
  • Areas with volcanic activity have geothermal sources hot enough to generate electrical energy.
  • Geothermal Energy has a lot of Pros.
  • One of these Pros is that they are environmentally friendly as it doesn't pollute  the environment. So animals like me are not affected!!
  • Geothermal reservoirs are naturally replenished and therefore renewable.
  • Smallest carbon footprint of any heating or cooling source.
  • But with these pros comes cons. Geothermal Energy  is dependent on the water that it's heated by. These plants can use a significant amount of water.
  • Electricity is still needed to operate these pumps. So it can be costly.
