Storyboard Text

  • 1890s Antoine Becquerel and Marie Curie discovered radioactivity and they died discovering these chemicals which lead to burned skin and other radioactive causes.
  • 1895 WIilhelm RÖntgen created the x-ray when he studied about radioactivity which was discovered by Antoine Becquerel and Marie Curie.
  • late 1890-early 1910 Joseph John Thomson discovered electrons in 1897 and with this, he created the plum pudding model in 1984.
  • 1 electron = -1.6022 x 10^-19 C
  • 1908-1917 Robert Milikan found that the charge of an electron is equal to -1.6022 x 10^-19 C
  • 1910-1911 According to Ernest Rutherford Atoms are mostly empty space  which is why he created the Gold foil experiment to prove his theory. Then in 1919, he discovered protons
  • 1913 Niels Bohr Proposed the atomic model which Shows electrons moving in the concentric orbits around the nucleus
  • 1913 Henry Gwyn Jeffrey Moseley Used x-ray spectra to study atomic structure and helped discover the atomic number of each element.
