  • Ay, ay, a scratch, a scratch. Go, villan, fetch a surgeon.
  • Act 3, Scene 2
  • Hath Romeo Slain himself?
  • Alas the day, he's gone, he's killed, he's dead
  • Act 3, Scenes 1-5
  • Act 3, Scene 3
  • Be patient, for the world is broad and wide.
  • Mercutio and Tybalt are dueling in the street. When they fight, Romeo tries to stop them but actually causes Mercutio to get stabbed. Out of anger, Romeo kills Tybalt and gets banished from Verona.
  • Act 3, Scene 4
  • Madam, good night. Commend me to your daughter.
  • The Nurse brings the news of Tybalt's death and Romeo's banishment. At first, Juliet thought Romeo was dead, but soon realized he was banished instead. She was devastated.
  • Act 3, Scene 5
  • Farewell, farewell. One kiss and I'll descend.
  • In Friar Lawrence's cell, Romeo is just as devastated as Juliet. Friar Lawrence tries to tell Romeo how lucky he is he did not get a worse punishment than being banished, but Romeo does not listen. Then the Nurse comes and tells Romeo to visit Juliet before morning, then leave Verona.
  • Capulet, Lady Capulet, and Paris are talking. They decide to hold the wedding for Juliet and Paris on Thursday of that week.
  • Romeo and Juliet meet for the last time before Romeo has to flee town. The nurse then recommends Juliet to marry Paris to get Romeo off her mind. Juliet is mad at the Nurse's disloyalty.
