Doctors could not understand or treat this disease with the technology they had
The plague was carried on fleas that landed on rats and infestered carts and cargo ships, journeying across Asia, Africa and Europe
It arrived suddenly in the mid 14th century
The victim would first begin with a fever, then they would get swollen lymph nodes, they would get chills and they would become weak.
The victim would die within a week of having the disease
One third of the population of Europe died because of the Black Death
People from lower classes that survived the Black Death could work their way up and determine their rights and freedoms
Peasants had very low immune systems and were the most people that died in the Black Death
Not only did peasants die but all levels in the social status died such as kings, nobles, lords and knights etc.
