  • Today we will review NUESTRA HISTORIA! Yay who's excited?
  • Seriously?..
  • Whatever.
  • First of all, there were many civilizations such as, the Aztecs, Tehotihuacan, Mayan, Tolteca, etc. 
  • Their life required handwork and their government consisted of a monarchy.
  • After he took over many islands, he guided all spaniards to Mexico which resulted into the conquest of Mexico. All indigenous people were forced to forget their culture and be slaves.
  • In 1519, Christopher Columbus sailed to the Islands of the Carribean to conquest them.
  • In the early 1800s, Miguel Hidalgo and Dona Josefa guided 'El Grito de Dolores' in which Miguel gave a powerful speech to persuade everyone to fight against the Spaniards. This ultimately led to the independence of Mexico.
  • YEAH!
  • Let's fight!
  • During the U.S - Mexico War, both countries fought to decide what river should be the border. Heavy conflicts started to occurs among them, so the United States went to Mexico and attacked its states. In result, United States gained territory thanks to the Treaty of Guadalupe.
  • We say Rio Grande should be the border!
  • Treaty of Guadalupe -Arizona California -Utah -Nevada are now part of the U.S
  • NO! It should be Rio Nueces!
  • California
  • These states are what make up Azlan, which for Chicanos means homeland. Chicanos identify Azlan as their home due to the fact that that term comes from the Aztecs, and the Aztecs helped make the culture of Mexico.
