  • During the summer of Philadelphia the germs and sicknesses were spreading like wildfire. This was because of the mosquitos, heat, and poop in the streets.
  • The 3/5 compromise 1
  • Slaves should count towards population!
  • The beginning of the Great Compromise was when delegates fought for the model/skeleton of their new government.
  • The 3/5 compromise 2
  • You guys shouldn't have more power!
  • No! We need two!
  • They had to agree on something they both liked. It had two houses, the senate and the house of representatives and was represented by population.
  • Federalists v.s. Anti- Feds.
  • We should have a strong state government
  • The states with lots of slaves wanted them to count as population because it would increase their power in government.
  • The states with less slaves wanted the slaves not to count so the other states wouldn't have a huge advantage over them [voting wise].
  • Both sides were deciding whether they wanted a strong state government or a strong national government.
  • We should have a strong national government
