We enter the details that you have given us on the Property Irregularity Report onto the WorldTracer missing luggage system which should be able to match up your missing luggage with items that have been recorded on that system.
Ok thank you for explaining that. But I don't have any clothes or toiletries with me as they were in my case.
We are hoping to track down your luggage very quickly but, in the mean time, we can offer you compensation of £50 to enable you to buy any essentials that you need to keep you going.
Well thank you for that but i am finding this whole situation very stressful.
I am so sorry that you are going through this, but we shall do everything we can to return your luggage to you as soon as possible.
Thank you I appreciate it.
Although we hope it doesn't come to it, but should we not find your luggage within 21 days then the claims procedure would be that you would get in touch with your travel insurance, who would submit a claim to the airline on your behalf for full reimbursement of the cost of your lost items.
That's fine, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. What would happen if my bag is found though?
If WorldTracer found a match to your luggage, they would send it to Aberdeen Airport as a "Rush Bag" where it would go through customs and security to be checked and then released for delivery to your home address.
That would be great. Here's hoping that it gets found sooner rather than later.
On behalf of British Airways, I would like to apologise again for this situation and we shall do our very best to sort it out as soon as possible.
