  • Thirteen American Colonies rejected the British Monarchy and aristocracy, overthrew the authority of Great Britain and founded the United States of America.
  • Do you know that the American Revolution was a political battle that started in 1776 and  finished  in 1783.
  • The British government attempted to pass the laws, enforced taxes, and increased control over the colonies. The thirteen colonies strongly objected the laws and taxes; they did not want England to have control over them.
  • After French and Indian war, England need money, so British government placed taxes on American colonies. They thought that the colonists should help to pay for the war since it had been fought partly to defend them.
  • One consequence of the Seven Years War (1754-1763) was that in the Traety of Paris, the French lost their colonial possesions in North America and gave control of most of their territory to England and Spain.
  • We return to France with new concepts for polical tactics.
  • French soldiers and sailors came to help American patriots in fighting against their common enemy The British.
  • Stamp act didn´t work and Britain replaced it with taxes on imported goods, so  colonists refused to buy products.
  • No stamp act!!! No tea act!!! No cloth act!!!
