Two brothers from Zimbabwe, Innocent and Deo are playing football on the muddy fields of Gutu, when they see the soldiers arrive. Innocent, who has had mental issues since birth, runs from the approaching soldiers.
Captain Washington in Bikita
Commander Jesus and his military unit arrive and instantly question the people from Gutu's loyalty to the president. He goes on to say that his life is to kill dissidents and drink their blood. Terrifying fear overcomes the people of Gutu. Innocent angrily charges at Jesus.
The Green Bombas
After his outburst, Innocent is taken away by the soldiers, beaten and locked away. Deo finds a beaten Innocent in an old abandoned homestead and frees him. Deo hides him in an abandoned water pipe. He then goes back to the village to collect Innocent's belongings.
Deo returns to find everyone in his village killed and all buildings destroyed. He finds his amai (mum) dead on the floor. He Is unable to tell Innocent what has happened because he would break into one of his fits. He decides to visit Captain Washington in Bikita and tell him what has happened. Captain Washington cries when he is told what has happened to their amai.
The Green Bombas invade Captain Washington's house and question why none of them are at a ceremony for the king. They plan to take Innocent and turn him into a Green Bomba but Deo knows how he can get rid of them. He sings a song which causes Innocent to have a fit. The Green Bombas fear Innocent in his fit and leave In terror thanks to Deo making up how bad the fit is.
After this, Captain Washington advises them to flee to South Africa.Deo and innocent cross the bridge from Zimbabwe to South Africa with a large group of people. On the bridge Innocent falls into the water but is swiftly saved by the men getting them over to South Africa. A terrified Innocent reluctantly crosses the rest of the bridge over to the park and the Ghuma- Ghuma.
