  • In Medieval Europe, the streets were dirty and full of rats. The perfect breeding ground for the plague.
  • The plague were spread by infected fleas who had jumped from rats to humans.
  • Those infected experience high fevers, coughing blood and black buboes over their body. They died in less than a couple days.
  • People tried to prevent the plague by burning things and praying, but it did nothing.
  • The Black Death killed an estimated 25 million people
  • The plague still exists today, with around a hundred to a thousand cases per year.
