  • Wilhelm Röntgen was a german mechanical engineer and phycist. His study. he studied in the  Federal Polytechnic Institute

  • wilhelm discobered the x-rays in 1895. In his laboratory, Wilhelm investigated the violet fluorescence of the catatonic rays
  • The Serendipity
  • After covering the Crooke tube with black paperboard to eliminate visible light, he observed a faint yellow-green glow from a screen with a layer of platinum-barium cyanide, which disappeared when the tube was turned off.
  • The utility of X-rays 
  • He determinated that the rays created very penetrating radiation, but also invisible, that went through thick paper and even fine metals
  • He used photographic plates to show that objects are more or less transparent to X-rays depending on their thickness and he made the first human X-ray, using his wife's hand.
