  • Woman during the 1820s and 30s played a prominent role in moments and protest.
  • I am the president of The National American Woman's Sufferage Association. We will make it fair soon.
  • In 1848, a group of abolitionist activists gathered in Seneca Falls, New York to discuss the problem of women’s rights. Most of the delegates agreed: American women should be treated equal
  • I hear by declare that the 19th amendment is now officially added to the US Constitution, that woman get the right to vote.
  • Yipee, Yeahh, we finally got what we wanted
  • During 1850 woman rights gathered steam, but then the Civil War began. Soon after the war amendment 14 and 15 were added to the constitution. In 1869 the National Woman's Suffrage started.
  • When woman put their minds to it they can achive it!!!
  • 1890 National American Woman's Suffrage Association was created. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the first president of this group. And instead of arguing that women deserved the same rights as men the new generation of activists argued that women deserved the vote because they were different from men.
  • Finally on August 26, 1920 the 19th amendment of the constitution was ratified. And on November 2 of that year, more than 8 million women across the United States voted in elections for the first time.
  • The women’s suffrage movement was a decades-long fight to win the right to vote for women in the United States. It took activists and reformers nearly 100 years to win that right. It is the same still today.
