- As I was coming home, I stopped by the store to get a bottle of water. As I was leaving my friends house, I rode my bike for 2 miles east, left the store by traveling 3 miles west, and went 5 miles west to go back home
- I am at my house and we will call this position A
- I came to visit my friend(position B) and she lives 5 miles away from me. I rode my bike for 25 minutes
- If I wanted to figure out the rate of speed at which I was going, I would divide the distance by the time. Speed would show how fast or slow you are goingThe distance it took for me to go from my house to my friends house was 5 miles, and it took me 25 minutes to get there.my speed= 5 miles / 25 minutesOnce I divide this, I would get .2 miles per minute
- sign convention is considered as which half of the graph is thought as positive or negative. For example, if you were to go up the y axis on the graph that would be a positive convention, but if you go down that would be a negative convention. Same with the x axis, if you go left it is negative and if you go right it's positive

- Displacement is the moving of something from its place or position. It tells you your position after you have moved from the reference point to the point you are at now.

- My reference point is 0. I traveled 2 miles east, and since east is to the right it would be positive, so 0+2=2. I then traveled 3 miles west. Since going west means going to the left, it means you are going backwards on the number line. 2-3= -1. If you go 5 miles west again that means you are going backwards from -1, so -1-5= -6 miles west

- Velocity is the rate of change of displacement per the time(ex: minutes, seconds). If I wanted to figure out the velocity I would divide displacement by time. Since we figured out that the displacement equals -6 and the time it took for me to get there would be 25 minutes, I would do -6 / 25, which equals -.24 miles west and the units would be miles per minute
