Their Eyes Were Watching God
Honors English - Block 1
In chapter 19, Janie and Tea Cake start to fight because they were living in an old house, that Tea Cake wanted to leave and get out of.
They go out and Tea Cake is convinced that he got bit by a dog. He didn't know the dog had rabies, and he later found out when he went to the hospital, when he started to feel ill.
Tea Cake went to the doctors and they gave him medicine to help him feel better, though the side effects like delusion and paronormal thoughts come through.
Tea Cake has been acting up ever since he had the medication, and Janie has been getting worried about him and his health.
The medication gets so bad, that Tea Cake thinks Janie is going behind his back and seeing Mrs. Turner's brother that returned.
Janie found a loaded pistol underneath Tea Cake's pillow, which caused Janie to be completely shocked. Instead of unloading it, Janie put three empty slots to give her time react just in case he does fire.
