hi! thomas rutherford here! today im going to talk to you about atoms
atoms? what are atoms?
not to worry! ill teach you kids all about atoms.
atoms are basic units of matter. "what is matter?" you ask. matter is everything, from these windows, to these walls. everything is matter. even air is matter! atoms are the most itty bitty pieces of matter.
and atoms are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. all of these different things are charged differently too, one negative (electrons) one positive, (protons) and one neutral (neutrons)
many different men throughout the years have contributed to the atomic model. John Dalton and his billiard ball model, only a tiny solid sphere. JJ Thomson and his "plum pudding model introduced electrons. Ernest Rutherford and Niels Bohr introduced different levels of the atom. Over time, many different people ave contributed to the atom we know and continue to learn about today.
