Why he changed- John Proctor was committing adultery with was punishable bye death so he admitted to the court that he cheated to show his goodness.
How he changed-He goes from a hot-headed adulterer to someone who truly wants redemption and to make things right with his wife who he has cheated on.
Beginning of play- Sinner who is cheating on his wife and keeping it a secret, the people of salem see him as an outstanding man.

It is a perfect song because- in the song it says it says it could always be better and that relates to a lot of people in the book because there are lots of people whose lives are messed up.
