Storyboard Text

  • We wanted our child to be a girl and eugenics helped our child to be 100% female. We could buy clothes for girls and not worry that  our child would be a boy.
  • Eugenics helped parents decide the gender of their children so that they are satisfied with the gender of their children and so that they do not buy clothes for boys when their child is a girl. It also allowed there to be families varieties of gender.
  • We are sorry to tell you so, but we found the sickle cell disease in the genetic makeup of your child. On the brighter side of things, we are able to genetically modify that and your child would not have diseases and disorders passed on genetically.
  • Using eugenics doctors would be able to predict what kinds of diseases their children would have and they would be able to genetically modify that using eugenics. That would leave the child with no diseases which would be a disadvantage in their life.
  • Thank you very much.
  • I want my child to be handsome, kind, generous, hardworking ....
  • The use of eugenics let doctors create better individuals ("model children") and they were also able to make kids only have good traits that their parents want such as being smart, kind, generous and hardworking.
  • Sure, we can do that for you.
  • In a society with eugenics, there would not be much diversity. Everyone would look pretty much the same, since people are able to alter the genes of people and create the "Ideal" people.
  • NO DIVERSITY
  • Look at them they look like they did not go under eugenics.
  • Haha they don't have money
  • They're not being nice to us just because we are poor.
  • Eugenics would increase the gap between the rich and the poor creating discrimination between ones who afforded to pay for eugenics and ones who did not have enough money to invest in eugenics.
  • Instead of preventing genetic disorders, more genetic disorders and diseases may be passed on, due to the mistakes that could have been made while trying to remove diseases.
  • We are sorry, but as we were trying to prevent a genetic disorder from passing on, we found out that we accidentally added a disease. We, doctors are humans too and it just happened to be your child who was affected by the mistake we made.
  • What? We paid a lot of money for you to prevent genetic disorders and diseases from passing on and this is the result you bring us? We will sue you.
